Metro D: Contract Signed for the Olbrachtova–Nové Dvory Section; Project Continues

The tender process for the construction of the Olbrachtova–Nové Dvory section as part of the Metro D project has been successfully concluded with the signing of a contract with the selected contractor. The project is thus entering the next phase of implementation for one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Prague.

The contract was signed after all legal obstacles were resolved. The Chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition rejected the appeal filed by the STRABAG group, and the Regional Court in Brno simultaneously rejected the PORR group’s motion for a preliminary injunction. Nothing thus stood in the way of completing the tender process.

The subsequent Olbrachtova–Nové Dvory section directly extends the already completed Pankrác–Olbrachtova section. Together, they will form the first fully operational section of the new Metro Line D, which is of fundamental importance for the city’s further development. The project will not only improve public transportation services but also have positive environmental impacts, reduce surface traffic, and enhance safety and comfort when traveling around the city. Its urban development potential is also significant, including the creation of conditions for the construction of thousands of new apartments.

The Brodec & Partners legal team, consisting of Jan Brodec, Martin Tonner, Karel Masopust, and Josef Hrstka, participated in the administration of the tender process in cooperation with PORTOS, advokátní kancelář s.r.o..

Preparations for the tender procedure for the next construction phase on the Pankrác – Náměstí Bratří Synků – Náměstí Míru section are currently underway, for which the firm is collaborating with, among others, METROPROJEKT Praha a.s..

The client is Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy, a.s., whose trust we greatly value.
